Main / Getting Started / What To Expect During Installation

After you verbally agree to your contract with cyberMIND, your account team will enter your order into cyberMIND’s internal order processing system, and your site(s) will be scheduled for installation of the necessary equipment.

Generally 30-45 days are required to “turn up” service. During this time, cyberMIND will:

  • Request a circuit to be provisioned for your DSL line with your local ILEC.

  • Receive a Firm Order Commitment (F.O.C.) Date from the ILEC and communicate that date to you. A FOC date is the date that your ILEC will install the circuit to your premise and terminate at your Point of Demarcation.
If your telephone lines terminate inside your facility, it is required that you be present for the ILEC to gain access.
If your telephone lines terminate outside your facility, it is not necessary for you to be present.

  • Load test the line to ensure that the circuit is operational and can carry the speed load you have requested.

  • Configure your path into the DSLAM and routers that you will be connected to..

  • Contact you to schedule a date and time to complete the inside wiring. At the time that the inside wiring occurs, a technician will run a line from the point of demarcation to the desired point of termination in your facility. The installation technician will also provide you with your router or bridge.*

    * Standard installation is up to and including 50 feet of cable from the point of demarcation to the point of installation. Additional distance beyond 50 feet will incur additional installation costs.

At the time of installation, the installation technician will run a line from the point of demarcation to the area that you designate for installation of the jack. The technician will connect the line to a dedicated jack and connected your Customer Premise Equipment (router or bridge). Once configured by the technician, they will test the equipment for successful connectivity to the Internet. Upon successful testing of your equipment, your service will be turned up and sent to billing.

Configuration of equipment beyond the router is beyond the scope of the initial installation. If additional network configuration is required, a network technician may be dispatched to your facility for an additional network installation fee.
